Long Beard - Sleepwalker

This album opens with a 30-second, reverse-audio soundscape. It's a choice I find curious--is it an announcement that the album to follow will be a departure from the norm, an aural palate cleanser, or are there other considerations at play unbeknownst to me in the mental fog of morning grogginess? Regardless, the music that follows is pleasant, a dreamlike meditation.

As far as I can tell, this is a power trio. But one that is interested in the power of being kind of quiet and slowly building to a climax that is ultimately still pretty quiet but nonetheless satisfying overall. Let's check in with Audrey Horne for her thoughts:

TL;DR If Long Beard comes to town, I would gladly venture to a small dark club and sway unobtrusively back and forth.
