Ben's SARS - Girl Band
The following is based on a true story: In my quest to review all of stereogum's "Best new bands of 2015," it was only when I got to Girl Band followed by Girlpool that I noticed they were in alphabetical order.
Girl Band - Holding Hands with Jamie
This is definitely not my cup of tea. There's a lot of ideas in here, but they're all communicated at the same time and at such screaming volume as to be indecipherable. For a perfect visual metaphor of what my ears went through while listening to this album, please consult the video above.
One thing I will say is that I do appreciate this band's liberal application of dirt and fuzz. I guess that goes hand in hand with being a shouty post post (how many posts are we on now?) punk band. I don't have much more to say about this. Like I said before, just not my thing.
TL;DR - I can see why you might like it, but I don't.
